Multi Stain Remover

Brand

lo-chlor

Description

Multi Stain Remover is specially formulated to remove iron, copper, manganese and cobalt stains and stains from swimming pool surfaces. It is used over the stain or stain. For best results, free chlorine should not be detected in the water, so it is customary to apply it at the beginning of the season at the first filling and before the superchlorination of the water (shock). After removing stains from surfaces, we always use No More Metal to bind the metals that created them.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Before application adjust the pH to 7.0, ensure all disinfectant levels are at 0 ppm (mg/l) and flush the filter.
  2. CAUTION: When using on colored marble finishes or printed vinyl liners DO NOT allow direct contact with pool surface. In these cases, depending on the severity of the stain, it is recommended either:
    a. Pre-dissolve the product in a clean plastic container and, with the pump and filter running, distribute the product evenly throughout the pool.
    b. Place the product in a sock attached to a telescopic pole and hold it close to the stained area.
  3. The product should be sprayed directly onto the stained area or spread evenly around the pool with the pump and filter running.
  4. IMPORTANT: Lo-Chlor No More Metal should be added to the pool water as soon as the stain appears to be coming off the surface. This removes dissolved metals, which prevents re-etching.
  5. Leave the pump and filter running for at least 24 hours, rinse the filter thoroughly and resume normal filtration.
  6. This stain treatment lowers both pH and total alkalinity. After treatment, the pool water must be balanced and disinfected.
  7. When rebalancing, first increase total alkalinity. This should be done slowly over days (maximum 20 ppm per day). A sharp increase will dissociate the metal ions from the solution resulting in re-staining.

You should not swim in the pool during treatment, and after treatment you should not resume swimming until the pool has been balanced and disinfected.

Stain treatments can cause the water to become cloudy, in which case use a Lo-Chlor Miraclear Clarifier Cube.
