Salts and Sunscreen Oils at the Waterline

One of the most common stains we encounter at the waterline are salts and oils from sunscreens or care products. The waterline usually has a yellowish color, and these types of stains are quite difficult to remove. They also give the pool an unsightly appearance If we have drained the pool water, we can choose the appropriate cleaner depending on the type of material used in the pool’s construction.

  • If we have a liner, the most suitable chemical is Tile and Liner Cleaner, which removes even the toughest stains from sunscreens and oils. We spray the stains locally and clean them with a wet cloth.
  • If we have tiles, stone, or marble, we then use Marble Stone, and Tile Cleaner, which is not only effective against sunscreens and oils but also very effective against salts.

If the pool is full, we then add directly into the water the specialized chemical Ultra Clear Clarifier, which is 100% biodegradable, a natural clarifier derived from shrimp shells. In addition to providing impressive clarity to the water, it binds and removes sunscreens, oils, and body greases, as well as cleans the waterline from deposits and yellowish discolorations.
